UW-Richland Theatre Scholarships



Jean Birkett Drama Scholarship for Incoming Students:
$100-$300 scholarship awarded to an incoming UW-R freshman.  Student will receive half of award in Fall semester and half in Spring semester, and is expected to maintain a minimum 2.0 g.p.a. and participate in Theatre Lab.  To apply, send a letter stating your interest and experience in theatre, as well as a letter of recommendation from your high school drama director, by April 15th.  Depending on the number of applications, applicants may be asked to audition or present a demonstration of their technical experience.  Applicants do not have to be planning a major in theatre.

Jean Birkett Drama  Scholarship for Continuing Students:
$100-$300 scholarship awarded to a UW-R student who has participated in at least one production and intends to participate in both the Fall and Spring productions next year.  The scholarship will be awarded 50% each semester of the academic year, assuming that the student maintains a minimum g.p.a. of 2.0 and is enrolled in Theatre Lab.  Send a letter of interest and experience by April 15th.  Applicants do not have to be theatre majors.

UW-R Theatre Transfer Scholarship:
Awarded to a UW-R student transferring with a declared major or minor in Theatre Arts.  The scholarship will be based on a student's participation in a minimum of three UW-R productions, and demonstration of outstanding artistic achievements and contributions to the UW-R Theatre program while maintaining a minimum 3.0 g.p.a.  The purpose of this award is to honor a student's contributions to UW-R Theatre and to encourage their continued development in Theatrical activities.  Amount varies.
