How to Register: Placement Tests

UW System requires all new students to participate in English and math Placement Testing. Test results are used in the advising/registration process. Advance registration & payment are required. Contact Student Services. The testing fee is $25; new freshmen will be assessed the fee even if they take part in regional testing. Make checks payable to UW-Richland. The English & math Placement Tests will last 90 minutes per test. Use of a non-graphing hand-held calculator is allowed for the Math Test. Students desiring to take the foreign language placement test will be assessed an additional $10 fee. Arrangements for this special testing must be made on an individual appointment basis.

• Saturday, April 19, 9am – 1pm
• Saturday, April 26, 9am – 1pm
• Saturday, May 3, noon – 4pm
• Wednesday, May 7, 4:30 – 8:30pm
• Saturday, May 17, 9am – 1pm
• Saturday, June 14, noon – 4pm

TEST DATES FOR SPRING 2009 ADMISSION

• Saturday, November 8, 9am – 1pm
• Tuesday, November 25, 4:30 – 8pm
• Wednesday, December 3, 1 – 5pm
• Monday, December 15, 8:30am – 12:30pm
• Thursday, January 8, 1:30 – 5pm
• Friday, January 16, 9am – 1pm

Live far from UW-Richland & closer to another UW campus?

Many campuses of the University of Wisconsin participate in the Regional Placement Testing Program.  If you live closer to another UW campus, you may want to explore the possibility of taking the English & math tests closer to home. Contact your guidance counselor to inquire about available testing dates closer to home and then be sure to register according to the procedures indicated by the regional testing guidelines. UW-Richland is not a regional testing site. The testing fee will still be assessed by UW-Richland since it is required of all new freshmen.
