New freshmen registration: Make your STAR date
SummerTime Advising & Registration (STAR) is the summer orientation & course registration event for those who will be new freshmen this fall. New students and their parents will want to make a reservation soon for STAR. Early participation is advised. 2009 dates and times are:
- 1 - 4pm sessions - June 2, 4, 9, 22, 23; July 14; August 11
- 9am - 12:30pm sessions - June 11; July 16
For more information or to make a reservation, contact Student Services.
Registration for classes is on a priority basis with the number of earned credits used to determine when you are eligible to complete advance registration. Credit numbers indicated do not include coursework in progress.
Other Registration notes:
Continuing, transfer and re-entry students ARE eligible for priority registration. If you have credits earned at other colleges or universities which you'll be transferring to UW-Richland, keep those in mind as you check the Registration Calendar. (Non-college parallel VTAE credits will not apply in most cases.) You are eligible to register along with UW-Richland students in the same category.
Registered? Need to make a schedule change?
Changes to your registered class schedule (course adds, drops, withdrawal) should be made in consultation with your advisor and the Office of Student Services.
Adding/Dropping
Adding/Dropping classes can be processed online once you have completed initial registration. Once you've registered via PRISM, you'll be able to add and/or drop classes online; however, we encourage you to contact your academic advisor to avoid potential negative impacts on your degree progress. Once classes begin, you must seek advisor/instructor approval for course adds.
- Adding: Semester-long courses may be added--with appropriate approval-- during the first two weeks of the semester only; less-than-full-term courses will have prorated "add" deadlines.
- Dropping: Semester-long courses may be dropped during the first 10 weeks of the semester; a designation of "W" (withdrawn) is recorded for courses officially dropped after the second week of classes. The drop period for courses less than 12 weeks in length is prorated.
