The University of Wisconsin-Richland has named Student Services Advisor Greg Zimmerman, part-time acting campus administrator. This temporary appointment follows the departure of former Campus Administrator Tracy Davidson, who recently accepted a position with University of Wisconsin System.
Regional Executive Officer and Dean Charles E. Clark announced this temporary appointment in late December, saying, “Greg brings a wealth of education administration to this position. Since coming to UW-Richland, Greg has emerged as a leader in Student Affairs and across campus, cultivating his strong ties with educators and education administrators across Richland County and beyond."
Zimmerman retired as principal of Hillsboro Middle School/High School in May of 2016 and began his advisor role at UW-Richland in July of 2016. He previously served the Wisconsin public school system for 31 years; nine as a teacher and 22 as a principal.
“As unexpected as this appointment was, I am excited to serve UW-Richland and its students as acting campus administrator. For more than 22 years, I was an administrator at the middle and high school levels; thus, I bring my experience, skills and enthusiasm to this position,” Zimmerman shares.
His new role is effective through August 2018 pending restructuring of UW-Richland with University of Wisconsin-Platteville. To learn more about UW-Richland, visit richland.uwc.edu. To learn more about the proposed UW Colleges and UW-Extension restructuring, visit wisconsin.edu/uw-restructure.
