** CLEP Subject Exam--English Composition With Essay
In all cases where accepted, student must resubmit official CLEP score report for evaluation, and required score may be higher than required by UW Colleges.
Scores required are:
660 or higher EPT and 730 or higher RCT (through summer 2000)
706 ECS or an EPT of 660 and RCT of 730 effective Fall 2000 (for students tested through 4/20/02).
Effective 4/20/02, an ENGL score of 605 or better.
Viterbo and Winona State do not accept transfer of UW Colleges English 102 exemption.

UW-Eau Claire & UW-Madison
Two credits of a foreign language are required. This requirement may be completed with two years of a single high school foreign language or two semesters of a single college foreign language. (Please note: Completing the Associate of Arts and Science Degree does NOT waive the foreign language admission requirement.)
UW-Milwaukee & UW-Parkside
Foreign language is not required for admission; however, student may fulfill graduation requirements by having completed two years of a single foreign language in high school or two semesters of a single foreign language in college.
UW-Platteville
Foreign language is not required for admission; however, student may fulfill graduation requirements by having completed two years of a single foreign language in high school or two semesters of a single foreign language in college. (Please note: Completing the Associate of Arts and Science degree waives this requirement.)

I. COMMUNICATION [3-6 credits]
Select one course from:
- Part A: Literacy Proficiency
- ENG 102 (Students completing UW System Placement Testing 4/20/02 and later may be exempted from Comm Part A an English Placement Test (ENGL) score of 605 or higher Students testing prior to that time will need an EPT score of 660 or higher and a Reading Comprehension Score of 730 or higher for exemption.)
Select one course from Part B: Enhanced Literacy Proficiency:
- ENG 201
- ENG 203 or 204
- or any course with a Writing Emphasis designation
II. QUANTITATIVE REASONING [3-6 credits]
Select one course from:
- Part A: Math 108 or 110 (or exemption)
Select one course from:
- Part B: Cps 260, Eco 204, Math 117, 211, 221, 222, 223, Physics 201, Psych 210
III. NATURAL SCIENCE [4-6 credits required]

Notes
Completion of an AA&S Degree at UW-Richland will satisfy all general education requirements except Communication (Parts A&B) & Quantitative Reasoning (Parts A&B).
