An Evening with Sister Helen Prejean

Join your campus and community in this extraordinary opportunity to listen and talk with internationally known author, teacher, spiritual advisor, and activist Sister Helen Prejean. Sister Helen, a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph, is known for her untiring work with death row inmates and the families of murder victims. She is the author of the Pulitzer Prize nominated and best seller, “Dead Man Walking: An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States”, on which was based the Oscar-winning motion picture. She also founded “Survive”, a program that provides support and counseling to victims of crime. Sister Helen will discuss her life work, writings, and her spiritual journey.
This event will be held in conjunction with the UW-System Faculty College Program.
Seating is limited.
Free tickets (limit two per person) can be picked up in person only beginning Monday, May 5, at the UW-Richland Continuing Education Office (Office 453/Melvill Hall). Monday, May 5th through Wednesday May 7th, the Continuing Education Office will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the office is open until 6:00 p.m. Beginning Thursday, May 8, the Continuing Education Office will also accept mail requests. Mail requests must include the names of the individuals requesting tickets and a self-addressed postage paid envelope.
Richland Reads
...is a campus/community shared reading experience featuring a select novel each academic year and related community events. A limited number of the shared reading novels are available, free of charge, at the Brewer Public Library.

Community Forums - Schmitt Woodland Hills
...are held on Tuesdays October through April. All forums are held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Schmitt Woodland Hills, 1400 W Seminary St, Richland Center. Community Forums feature an eclectic blend of topics and speakers.
