University of Wisconsin - Richland campus executive officer and dean Dr. Patrick Glenn Hagen has announced the names of students recognized for their academic achievements during the spring 2011 semester which ended in May.
Next fall, 48 University of Wisconsin-Richland students will continue their studies with the support and through the generosity of people who provide scholarships.
Service to the campus community and academic achievement were recognized during Graduation and Awards Night ceremonies held May 6 on the University of Wisconsin-Richland campus. This was the first UWRichland Graduation for CEO/Dean Dr. Patrick Hagen.
UW-Richland students who are completing their studies on the Richland Center UW campus were awarded scholarships at Graduation and Awards Night on May 6. These awards are designated for students transferring, going on to complete their bachelor degrees.
University of Wisconsin-Richland students recently elected Student Senate officers who will represent the student body and provide leadership during the coming year. A referendum to determine whether UW-Richland students wanted to continue affiliation with United Council of UW Students passed.
“My goal is to see the Smart Farm have a net zero carbon footprint,” said Terry Sebranek, chair of the committee managing the UW-Richland Joe and Mae Senneke Smart Farm, an outdoor facility for University of Wisconsin-Richland students and for community education.
The Phi Mu chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, University of Wisconsin-Richland’s honor society, recently earned national recognition, a Pinnacle Award, a point of pride for the chapter according to their advisor Dr. Aharon Zorea, associate professor of history.
Dr. Brandon Fetterly, University of Wisconsin-Richland assistant professor of chemistry, presented a paper and was co-author of two papers presented by others recently at the 241st annual meeting of the American Chemical Society.
The research of Dara Foust, a University of Wisconsin-Richland student from Richland Center, was on display in the Capitol in Madison on Wednesday, April 6.
