Campus wireless network access
The wireless network covers all campus buildings except the Roadrunner Gymnasium, and all student accounts
are enabled for access. Here's how to use it:
- Your wireless adapter should detect the network "rlnpublic" - connect to it.
- Open your web browser; it should present you with the Richland Wireless Portal login page.
- Enter your campus username and password, then click "Submit Login".
If you've completed the above steps successfully, your browser should redirect to its regular default
page, and you should have full and normal Internet access. If you are inactive on the wireless network
for more than 45 minutes, your web browser will redirect you again to the Richland Wireless Portal login
page to resubmit your username and password.
Obtain academic discounts on software
Microsoft, Adobe and others provide steep software discounts for college students. When looking for a particular
piece of software, be sure to check both sites below. The University Bookstore tends to have a wider selection of
software than WISC, but WISC often has the lowest prices.
- Wisconsin Integrated Software Catalog (WISC)
wiscsoftware.wisc.edu/wisc/
- The University Bookstore (Madison, WI) Digital Outpost
www.uwcomputerstore.com (Phone: 800-993-BOOK)
(Any UW System student may purchase software here. Ask for details on the required proof of current registration.)
Symantec Antivirus software
This software is also available only if you are a current student, staff member, or faculty member.
