PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – John Christensen, who has years of University of Wisconsin System experience as well as local business ties, is the new communications manager for UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County and UW-Platteville Richland.
Christensen served in the UW-Madison chancellor’s office for 11 years and prior to that worked two years as a graduate assistant in the UW Colleges. For the last seven years, he managed Arcadia Books in Spring Green, Wisconsin, which is equidistant between the two campuses.
On July 1, the former UW-Baraboo Sauk County and UW-Richland officially became branch campuses of UW-Platteville. Christensen will highlight the events, achievements and efforts of the students, faculty and staff at those locations. He will craft press releases, website posts and social media content, while serving as the liaison to the UW-Platteville Communications Department. He will serve under the direction of Deans Ed Janairo (Baraboo Sauk County) and Brandon Fetterly (Richland) and split time at the branch campuses.
Christenen earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Beloit College and his MPA from the LaFollette School of Public Affairs, UW-Madison.
