Students, their families and others attending to business matters at the University of Wisconsin-Richland will likely meet Derek Kalish, who joined the UW-Richland Business and Administrative Services department in mid-May as a financial specialist.
He comes to the position with considerable experience in cash handling, business management, and customer service, having worked as a teller supervisor at a bank, manager of a financial services center, and in retail as a store manager, assistant human resources manager and visual standards assistant manager.
Kalish, a rural Richland County resident, is also well acquainted with the University of Wisconsin-Richland, where he earned his associate degree in 2003 before transferring to UW-Madison, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He currently serves the UW-Richland Alumni Association as treasurer and says, “It’s a great honor to give back to such an amazing university that gave so much to me.”
As a financial specialist, Kalish will assist with an array of business related duties, working with UW-Richland assistant campus dean for administrative and financial services Dundee McNair.
