UW-Richland transferring students awarded scholarships

Eleven UW-Richland students who are completing their studies at the Richland Center UW campus were awarded scholarships at Graduation and Awards Night on May 10. These awards, totaling over $9,000, are designated for students transferring, going on to complete their bachelor degrees.

Awarded transfer scholarships were:

 Kaitlyn Bauer, Cazenovia
                UW-Platteville/UW-Richland Cooper Endowed Scholarship ($800)

Danielle Denu, Arena
                UW-Platteville/UW-Richland Cooper Endowed Scholarship ($700)

Rebecca Frank, Hazel Green
                UW-Platteville/UW-Richland Cooper Endowed Scholarship ($700)

 Drew Frey, Boscobel
                Fred & Ruth Graf Scholarship ($1,500)

 Steven Karr, Richland Center
                UW-Richland Progressive Legacy Scholarship ($750)

Amber Knutson, Camp Douglas
                Jay & Molly Sheafor Memorial Scholarship ($1,100) ($550 per year in 2013-14 & 2014-15)

Sierra Lurvey, Lone Rock
                Richland County Farm Progress Days Scholarship ($1,000)

 Tyler Morse, Hillsboro
                Richland County Bank Scholarship ($500)

 Alicia Nofsinger, Tomah
                Coach Warren Wallace Memorial Scholarship ($250)

Chin Ong, Malaysia
                Clara Westerdahl Memorial Scholarship ($900)

 Alex Wontor, Richland Center
                Clara Westerdahl Memorial Scholarship ($900)

The Vice Chancellor Greg Lampe Graduation Speaker’s Award was also presented during the ceremony. This $500 award, recognizing his election as president of the UW-Richland Student Senate for 2013-2014, went to continuing UW-Richland student Alex Barnes, Richland Center.

In addition to these scholarships, additional scholarships are awarded to continuing UW-Richland students and to students who will be new freshmen in the fall. Continuing student scholarship recipients will be recognized during Convocation ceremonies next fall. New freshmen awards are being presented at high school awards ceremonies being held this spring.
